“In my role, I supported members of the UM community, whether through resume critiques, mock interviews, or personal statement reviews. In this way, my greatest joy came from seeing those I mentored achieve their goals and aspirations such as getting into medical school or getting a summer internship at their dream company.”
- Mahogany Black
“By working at Toppel, I was able to learn how to speak to all different kinds of people, from peers of different backgrounds to senior leaders of a company. I also learned how to dress the part, develop my personal brand, and grow my network. These are skills that I use every single day in my role as a human resources professional.”
- Vinessa Burnett
“My favorite thing about working at the Toppel Career Center was the people. From the student staff, the professional staff, to even the people who would come in for services, I got to interact with such a variety of individuals. This not only prepared me for the type of work I do now, as an attorney in local government, but also me personally and in my day-to-day life.”
- Morgan Henry
“Working at Toppel was an incredibly enriching experience in every way. The connections I built, the skills I developed, the knowledge I gained, and the support I received have continued to benefit me, even two years after graduation. As a Career Coach, I truly valued the collaborative environment with my coworkers and the constant learning opportunities – whether about career development, my field of interest, or others’ studies.”
