The Mark and Maureen Angelo Family Endowment Fund

The Mark and Maureen Angelo Family Endowment Fund at the Toppel Career Center (also known as The Angelo Family Endowment Fund) aims to support University of Miami undergraduate students as they pursue high-quality internships that foster their career exploration by reducing financial challenges.

Through the generosity of The Angelo Family and members of the University of Miami Parents Council, we are able to offer competitive awards of $500 up to $3000 for undergraduate students who accept unpaid or paid internship opportunities.

Eligibility

  • UM undergraduate students who are currently enrolled full-time
  • Applicants cannot be under any judicial sanctions
  • Applicants must not be graduating in Spring 2024

Internship Qualifications

  • Internship must be during Summer 2024
  • Internship can be either paid or unpaid
    • Minimal stipend for housing, transportation, and/or meals from your employer does not qualify as payment
  • Internship must be supervised by a full-time employee of the organization
  • Unpaid internships that are required as part of a program curriculum are not eligible
  • Organization may not be owned/run by a member of the student’s immediate family
  • Preference will be given to students who will have internships that last the duration of the summer

Application & Supplemental Documents

The Angelo Family Endowment Fund will collect your contact information and will require you to provide the following:

  • Specific internship information, including organization and supervisor
  • Answers to essay questions
  • Budget Expenses
  • Updated Resume (PDF Format)
  • Internship Offer Letter (must include internship dates & pay)
  • Former recipients must have increased roles & responsibilities (clearly detailed in the application) if applying with the same internship from the prior summer

An Internship Verification Form will be sent to your supervisor upon submission of your application to confirm that the position meets internship qualifications.

Selection Process

  • A committee will review each application and select the award recipients
  • Each application will be considered on a case-by-case basis and evaluated against the application and supplemental documents received
  • If selected for an award, you must register for the Toppel Internship Program
  • All correspondence regarding your application will be sent to your UM email account

You may be disqualified if:

  • Application is submitted past the deadline 
  • Application is incomplete
  • There are judicial violations that occur after the funding has been awarded
  • The internship does not meet the qualifications described above
