Office Manager

I joined the Toppel Career Center as part of the Operations & Strategic Initiatives Team in 2018.  As a first-generation student, I struggled for some time trying to decide which career path would best suit me. I always had a great affinity for the criminal justice system, so I began my early college coursework in Criminal Justice. After overcoming some challenges, I decided to build upon my strengths and pursue something directly related to field of work I was already in, which led me to study business. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from University of Miami in the spring of 2018, and I am currently working towards an M.A. in Management Studies here at the University.

I started working for the University in 2008, at the Controller’s Office in Property Accounting for seven years. Shortly after, I joined the Parking & Transportation department before transitioning over to Office Manager at the Toppel. I’m currently Chief administrator in the areas of budget, finance, building operations, purchasing, student employees, and human resources for the Toppel Career Center. Nothing is more rewarding than working for an institution, that allows you the benefit to grow both educationally and professionally; at the end of the day this is what makes it “great to be a MIAMI HURRICANE”.

If I could offer some words of wisdom for the future they would be to not be afraid to take risks; sometimes you’ll find yourself ahead and sometimes you’ll find yourself behind but in the end, the race is only with yourself so always finish what you start. Outside of the University, I enjoy assisting whenever possible at a non-profit organization known as Operation Enduring Warrior, whose mission is to honor, empower, and motivate our wounded military and law enforcement. It is an absolute honor and a humbling experience to work with these veterans who have sacrificed and done so much for this great nation. My other hobbies include martial arts and playing soccer, also you can always catch me on Saturdays supporting our Canes during football season.
