#KeepinIt100
Meet Messiah Godfred Majid, a computer science and mathematics major with a minor in biology!
Messiah is a Stamps Scholar and Foote Fellow Honors student from Ghana. As an international student liaison in student government, he advocates for the needs of international students, ensuring they feel supported and included. Additionally, as a first year fellow, he mentors first-year students and hosts technical workshops to enhance their academic success.
Messiah credits Cane2Cane with significantly shaping his career journey. After being hesitant at first, Messiah quickly realized Cane2Cane offered genuine connections with alumni eager to help students succeed. Through these relationships, he has received invaluable advice, from interview preparation to navigating early career decisions, empowering him to turn big ideas into actionable steps. Conversations with mentors have shown him that success often comes from non-linear paths and that asking the right questions is just as important as having all the answers.
Piece of Advice:
“Don’t overthink it - just send that first message. The worst that can happen is no reply, and the best could be finding a mentor who changes how you think about your career. Be honest about where you are and what you need help with; you’ll be amazed at how willing people are to help.”
