#OwnIt
Meet Sophia Knutson, a senior Computer Science and Data Science & Artificial Intelligence double major!
This past summer, Sophia interned as a Summer Analyst at Schonfeld. The experience not only gave her exposure to workshops and speaker events in the finance industry but also solidified her career path, as she recently accepted a full-time offer to return to Schonfeld’s CST team as a Business Analyst after graduation.
On campus, she is a founding member of Kappa Theta Pi, a professional technology fraternity, where she served as VP of Marketing and VP of Professional Development. In these roles, she mentored peers, organized workshops, and helped grow the organization from nine founders to over sixty members. She shares that Toppel played an essential role in her success, from refining her resume to preparing her for interviews and connecting her with opportunities that led directly to her full-time offer.
Piece of Advice:
“Success looks different for everyone, so define what it means to you. Break your long-term goals into smaller milestones and focus on one step at a time. Learn from failure, keep improving, and always give your all, because there are no shortcuts to success.”

Interview Help With Toppel
Feeling nervous before an interview is completely normal, but preparation can make a world of difference. The key is to focus on the basics: research the company, come up with thoughtful questions, and practice sharing your story in a clear, authentic way. Think of it less as an interrogation and more as a conversation where you and the employer get to know each other.
At Toppel, we make it easier to prepare with practice interview options. You can record yourself through Big Interview and submit responses for career coach feedback, or stop by during drop-in hours to meet with a career coach for a live 20-minute practice session. Already practiced with a peer career coach? Then you can schedule a 30-minute appointment with a staff career coach for more in-depth guidance.

Leslie Rodriguez
Career Coach
|
Meet Leslie Rodriguez, a junior from Sarasota, Florida, majoring in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Public Health on the Pre-Med track!
On campus, Leslie serves as the Secretary of the Optometry Club and is an active member of AMSA. She also volunteers at DOCS Health Fairs hosted by the Miller School of Medicine, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the healthcare field. This year, she’s most excited about applying to medical school and taking the next step toward her dream of becoming a physician.
For Leslie, #OwnIt means taking full control of her time and being intentional about how she uses it. She knows that anything worthwhile takes both time and effort, and her focus on mindfulness has already given her clarity and confidence as she prepares for her future in medicine.
Piece of Advice:
"The most valuable thing you can do is make mistakes. Without them, you will never truly learn."
