#OwnIt

Meet Noah Donavan, a junior majoring in Economics & Mathematics!

He is preparing his portfolio for a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning. From conducting deep-dive research into specific labs to expanding his GitHub with independent study projects, Noah is thoughtfully building a competitive academic profile.

Noah regularly uses the resume scanner to sharpen how his technical skills and research experiences are presented. He’s also taken full advantage of Toppel’s graduate school resources to translate his undergraduate work into a compelling doctoral application. With preparation and persistence, he is positioning himself strongly for what’s next.

Piece of Advice:

“Don't feel pressured to fit into a single box. Also, don’t be afraid to apply broadly. Your "dream" program or internship is likely competitive, so diversify your opportunities and focus on building a unique path that reflects your genuine interests.”

If you’ve landed an unpaid or underpaid internship and meet the eligibility requirements, this fund can help cover essentials like housing, transportation, and living expenses, so you can focus on gaining real-world experience, not stressing about money.

Eligibility:
• For full-time UM undergrads
• Not graduating Spring 2026
• Deadline: April 15, 2026
