#OwnIt
Meet Gabriella Ortega, a junior majoring in economics on the quantitative track with a minor in entrepreneurship!
Gabriella’s career journey took an unexpected but rewarding turn when she was offered a full-time position as a Logistics Coordinator at Arcor USA after completing an eight-month internship with the company. Though she initially applied for an administrative internship aligned with her major, Gabriella took a leap of faith when offered a role in logistics, an area she knew little about at the time. That decision paid off: she quickly developed a passion for the field, learning the ins and outs of international trade, tariff agreements, and growth strategy.
She says Toppel played a major role in shaping her professionalism and confidence. As both a student user and a former staff member, Gabriella gained firsthand experience in networking, resume development, and employer relations. She credits Toppel for helping her refine her communication skills and build the confidence to approach opportunities that once felt out of reach.
Piece of Advice:
“Don’t be afraid to try new things. I took a chance on a logistics role I knew nothing about, and it completely changed my career path. Even if things don’t go as planned, every experience teaches you something valuable.”
