Meet Mariama Hilliard, a senior majoring in creative advertising and graphic design with a minor in marketing from Charlotte, NC!
Mariama serves as the Vice President of the Black Creatives Collective, Public Relations and Media Advisor for Unity Roundtable, a Board of Communications Member in Student Government, and a UI/UX Designer for XR Lab. This year, she’s prioritizing meaningful experiences, exploring Miami, and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds.
Mariama is passionate about stepping out of her comfort zone to grow professionally. Last year, she took a bold step by modeling in Hairology’s Hair Show, which helped her gain confidence and push her boundaries. Her dedication has opened doors to professional experiences with organizations like Nasdaq, the School of Communication, and People for People Charter School. She firmly believes in making the most of the hidden resources on campus, encouraging students to explore and embrace new opportunities.
Piece of Advice:
"Treat others the way you want to be treated. Open yourself up to new experiences and take full advantage of the resources available - you’ll be amazed at what you discover."
