Meet Grace Blauvelt, a senior majoring in finance and marketing!
What began as a single email from the Toppel Career Center quickly became a life changing opportunity for Grace. After spotting a message about Citi visiting campus, her curiosity sparked an interest in the company’s early career program, an interest that soon led to an internship with Citi.
Throughout her internship, Grace gained firsthand insight into how a global financial institution operates while building critical analytical and professional skills. Inspired by her experience, she took her involvement a step further by becoming a Citi Campus Ambassador, leading coffee chats and creating meaningful networking opportunities for fellow students.
Grace credits Toppel for supporting her at every stage of the journey. From one-on-one resume reviews to online resources that guided her through the application process, Toppel helped her clearly articulate her academic and professional experiences and position herself as a strong candidate.
This rewarding journey has come full circle as Grace prepares to return to Citi this July as a full time Services Analyst in New York City.
Piece of Advice:
“Don’t be afraid to leverage the UM network and reach out to alumni; almost all are more than willing to help and want to see you succeed. Those conversations and connections can make a huge difference and open doors!”
