#OwnIt

Meet Valentina Urbicain, a fifth-year Architecture major! This past summer, Valentina interned at Perkins&Will in Miami, where she was immersed in a dynamic work culture and learned directly from accomplished architects creating impactful projects.

During the academic year, she also contributed to a research initiative with the School of Engineering, assisting with a tensegrity project in collaboration with the Museum of Contemporary Art. These experiences deepened her appreciation for architecture’s creative and technical dimensions and reinforced her passion for the field!

Valentina credits Toppel with broadening her horizons and connecting her to opportunities. Through the annual Architecture Career Fair, she’s explored career paths within her field. She values how Toppel continuously provides diverse ways for students to expand their networks across industries and even countries.

Piece of Advice:

“Stay hungry for success and always believe you can bring something unique to the table. It’s easy to get discouraged when an opportunity doesn’t go your way, but those moments often carry lessons that lead to even greater opportunities.”
