#OwnIt

Meet Cole Kosanovich, a Master of Science in Finance (MSF) candidate expected to graduate next spring!

Cole recently completed his undergraduate studies at Miami Herbert, earning dual degrees in Business Analytics and Business Technology last spring. Over the past year, he’s made a pivotal career shift toward finance after realizing his original path in operations wasn’t the right long-term fit. Through job shadowing, informational interviews, and extensive research, Cole explored various areas of finance and discovered a strong passion for wealth management. These experiences have helped him align his analytical skills with a career focused on helping others achieve their financial goals.

Cole credits Toppel with being instrumental in his career transition. When he decided to pursue finance, the Toppel team helped him explore graduate-level opportunities and connected him to key tools like Career Explorer and Cane2Cane. With guidance from professional staff, Cole prepared for shadow days, refined his interview skills through the Big Interview platform, and gained the confidence to approach new opportunities with clarity and professionalism.

Piece of Advice:

“Be proactive and reach out to people, as it can open doors you never expected. I used to hesitate out of fear of rejection, but once I started connecting with professionals, I realized how many are willing to share advice. Those conversations not only gave me direction but made the job search feel more approachable and rewarding.”
