Meet Ryan McMullen, a senior majoring in marine biology and ecology with minors in ecosystem science and policy and biology!

Ryan has placed a strong emphasis on developing himself as a researcher by completing his summer research internship and a senior thesis project at UM. Beyond research, he actively hones his presentation and networking skills by sharing his work at conferences and symposiums.

Ryan also collaborated with Toppel Career Center during his first three years at UM to help plan Ocean Awareness Week’s career fair, where he connected with notable organizations and professionals in his field.

The Office of Academic Enhancement will be hosting its 3rd annual “Fulbright in the Classroom” this Wednesday, April 2nd, in the Lakeside Auditorium at 4:30 PM (doors open at 4 PM). You’ll get to learn more about what it's like being a part of Fulbright directly from:

Dr. Melvin Butler, Associate Professor of Musicology at the Frost School of Music, Associate Dean of the Office of Academic Enhancement, and 2001 Fulbright researcher in Jamaica.
Jahn Jaramillo, UM Doctoral Candidate in Prevention Science and Community Health, Foreign Language and Area Studies Program fellowship recipient, and 2013 Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Thailand.

Dr. Butler and Jahn will discuss their Fulbright experiences, share how the program can support students in their professional endeavors, and offer guidance as students consider the possibility of Fulbright for themselves.

Meet Arya Do, a junior keyboard performance major from Vietnam!

Arya is not only passionate about music but also deeply immersed in the world of graphic design and photography. As a graphic design intern at Toppel, she is developing professional skills that blend her artistic interests with career growth.

When she’s not at the piano, Arya enjoys composing, designing, and working out, seeing all creative outlets as a way to fully immerse herself in self-expression. For Arya, art and music are like soulmates, always offering new discoveries and endless inspiration.
