#KeepinIt100

Meet Natalia Guardiola, a business technology major with double minors in artificial intelligence and international business!

Natalia is passionate about innovation and career development, and she’s made it a priority to immerse herself in opportunities that align with her goals. She’s actively involved in organizations like Google Developer Student Clubs, the Professional Technology Fraternity Kappa Theta Pi, and the Leaders of Tomorrow Initiative, where she’s surrounded by a community of like-minded peers.

Last summer, Natalia landed a project management internship at a real estate company, which turned into a part-time role as an innovation and technology associate. As an international student, securing a job that supports her visa requirements hasn’t been easy, but her determination and the company’s supportive work culture have made all the difference. Natalia credits the Toppel Career Center and the Toppel Internship Program for helping her reflect on her journey and plan for what’s next.

Piece of Advice:

“Put yourself out there. If you feel lost, UM has so many resources to help guide you. Find the right community, lean on your academic and career advisors, and let them lead you to success.”

Making Connections on Handshake

Did you know that networking doesn’t have to be only with professionals, but networking with your peers is just as important? When you think about it, the people you meet now will also be working in the field in the future, and having connections at all levels is always good.

An easy way to connect with peers is on Handshake. When you log on, just click the “People” tab in the left-hand column, and you can search for individuals based on:

  • School
  • School Year
  • Major
  • Alumni
While you may be inclined to network with people at UM, it may be beneficial to expand your horizons and connect with people at different schools. This opens the doors to meeting people who have different experiences, skills, connections, and more!

Mohammad Hasan Aziz

Guest Experience Assistant

Meet Mohammad Hasan Aziz, a freshman at the Herbert Business School, born and raised in Miami! He is currently exploring his academic path as a BBA major with an undeclared minor.

On campus, Mohammad is involved in the Association of Commuter Students (ACS) and OCSI, where he will serve as an Orientation Fellow this upcoming fall. He’s most looking forward to exploring different business pathways through his core courses and getting more involved in student organizations.

Mohammad is #KeepinIt100 by staying open and connecting with those around him. He has learned that life at UM becomes more enjoyable and meaningful when he’s consistently meeting new people in his field, as there's always something to learn from each person you meet.

Piece of Advice:

"Do it scared. Don’t be intimidated to talk to people; just go for it and approach them. Oftentimes, you’ll find something in common or at least have somebody to talk to."
