Meet Ustina Molyanova, a sophomore finance major!

Recently she had the opportunity to work in the Venture Capital industry as a Summer Associate at Florida Funders. Ustina’s role primarily involved evaluating market trends, growth margins, and risk profiles to generate comprehensive investment desirability reports of potential investment opportunities centered around B2B SaaS startups.

Now she currently works as a Venture Consultant at The Launchpad, where she advises clients on refining business models by leveraging market analysis tools and technology to boost their key success metrics. Ustina also serves as the Vice President of the Canes Finance Association – a club that prides itself on mentorship and professional development.

During her first year at UM, Toppel has been a crucial part of her early career journey. To fuel her professional development, Ustina is always taking advantage of Toppel's resources by attending resume workshops, practice interview sessions, and company events that they host. Ustina says that the practice interview sessions significantly refined her interviewing skills, and the company information sessions helped her make invaluable connections and broaden her professional network.

Piece of Advice:

“Regardless of your professional journey, cultivating a genuine passion for your work is one of the most beneficial things you can do. Incorporating a routine of engaging in daily activities that foster personal growth is absolutely essential. This consistent dedication to self-improvement has the potential to bring about the most amazing transformations in your life.”

Daniel Perez

Career Coach

Meet Daniel Perez, a sophomore majoring in International Studies, Political Science, Business Law, and Italian from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania!

Daniel is a Funday Staff Chair, and is also involved with the Caribbean Student Association, First-Gen Students, and is a Hammond Scholar.

By remaining attentive to a lot of the objectives that he had set for himself last semester, he was able to devise a plan. This eventually led him to a new path under which he could plan his career goals and be successful in the future.

Piece of Advice:

“Have a good character and be open to new experiences. Sometimes individuals apply a close-minded perspective to a lot of the things we do in our daily lives, but it's always good to remain open as a person and listen to what others have to say because in the long-run you learn so much.”
