Applying for Internships for Over the Break

Although winter break is some time away, now might be a good time to start looking for an internship over the break. These internships are exactly like summer internships but take place during the fall or winter months. Since they’re more non-traditional, they’re typically less competitive and tend to have shorter and more flexible hours. Also, because they’re often short-term, you’re able to gain valuable skills and experience in a short amount of time. This can help strengthen your resume, especially if you plan on doing an internship in the summer as well.

Like all internships, it is best to start searching early. This article goes more in-depth about these types of internships, as well as provides a good timeline on when you should be applying. One way to search for these internships on Handshake is to use the keyword “winter” and it will pull up all of the seasonal opportunities available. Who knows maybe the employer might want to keep you longer or even hire you by the end of it!
