Job Search for International Students
The Job Search for International Student series is meant to offer insight into the job search process as well as the sponsorship process. In part 1 of the series, students will learn about best practices for searching for full-time positions. ISSS will also be on hand to discuss the Optional Practical Training (OPT) Process. During part 2, students will hear from Immigration Attorney Aaron Blumberg about applying for the H1-B working visa. Each session will last approximately 1 hour and will be open to all undergraduate and graduate students at UM.

How to Articulate Your Strengths: A Career Development Workshop for Graduate Students
Have you ever struggled with the dreaded strengths and weaknesses questions in an interview? Would you like to learn more about how to talk about yourself in a networking situation? Sign up for the Graduate StrengthsQuest Workshop, today! This workshop will give you the chance to learn about yourself as a professional and how to articulate strengths and skills in an interview.
Students will take the StrengthsQuest assessment in advance, and the workshop will focus on debriefing the results and how to present them.

Having trouble creating a resume from your CV? Want some tips and advice from a career advisor before you submit your application? This workshop will focus on transforming a CV into a resume, as well as on creating an effective cover letter and LinkedIn profile. This program is open to all graduate students. Document review will be provided at the end of the session to those who bring hard copies.
