If you’re in your final year at UM and facing financial challenges, consider applying for the Sallie Mae Fund’s Completing the Dream Scholarship Program. Qualifying students could receive a one-time scholarship of up to $2,500 to help complete your program.
In 2021, The Sallie Mae Fund will award 260 of these "gap scholarships" to minority students and those from underserved communities who are on track to graduate but are at-risk of not completing due to financial emergency or unpaid school bill.
Scholarship applications for Fall 2021 are open through March 8, 2021. Winners will be announced in early May.

Best Advice?
College is stressful, but do not let yourself go. Have at least one day where you just focus on self-care.
#BreakThru Story?
As a first generation student, it was hard for me to apply to the School of Nursing & Health Studies at the University of Miami. However, I reached out to people who helped me understand the whole application process, and the career I wanted to pursue. I got accepted to the School of Nursing & Health Studies, and I am confident that I will get my Doctorate in Nursing and later open up my own clinic.
