Kylie Oquendo
EE Intern
|
Kylie Oquendo is a sophomore from New York majoring in Finance with a minor in Real Estate. Outside of Toppel, Kylie is a part of the Alliance of Latin American Students and the Women in Business organization based on campus. She is looking forward to more of an in-person experience at UM this semester, and she is happy that meeting new people and making connections in college is not as intimidating as she previously thought it would be.
Best Advice?
Treating others the way you want to be treated is something I live by wholeheartedly. The energy and actions a person may give to the world will always come with a reward or consequence.
#BounceBack Story?
I feel as if I never really graduated from high school and suddenly, I am a sophomore in college. In many of my courses during my freshman year, I felt inferior to my peers because they all had experience from various jobs, internships, and educational backgrounds, and I could not relate. I've been able to #BounceBack by adapting to working virtually. I've spent time updating my resume, LinkedIn, and creating relationships with employers online. Working through this on my own has allowed me to grow and to secure my first internship.
