Work-Life Balance Tips

Work-life balance planning actually begins before you accept a new position. You must determine your needs and make sure they align with your future company’s culture. Therefore, it’s important that you conduct company research when applying to jobs in order to identify which companies would be a good fit for you. “In a company memo, Tesla CEO Elon Musk explained his belief that work-life balance isn’t always achievable in competitive industries: ‘There are many companies that can offer a better work-life balance, because they are larger and more mature or in industries that are not so voraciously competitive.’”

In this article, top chief executives share their tips and secrets for work-life balance. Check it out!

Doug Neese

Assistant Director Campus Outreach

I attended Florida International University where I received a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Political Science. When I first began college I thought that I wanted to join the Army but after doing ROTC for a year I realized it wasn’t for me. Instead I decided that I wanted to join the Peace Corps and was consistently making moves to do that. I was and still am very passionate about international affairs and politics so I joined clubs and cultivated friendships with people who had similar interests. During my college years I made sure to travel around the United States as much as possible, even though I didn’t have that much money. I managed to organize a lot of road trips with friends from my university and had amazing times!
