#GoalDiggin

Melissa Azank is a junior majoring in Finance and Business Technology. This past summer she was #GoalDiggin as an Analytics Intern at Mastercard!

She shares, “I had the amazing opportunity to work for the Latin America and Caribbean Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in the Miami Office. My role was to deliver solutions that foster data-driven decision-making and insights to drive business growth in the region. Working at Mastercard has been an incredible experience as I have grown both professionally and personally. Fortunately, I have been offered the opportunity to continue working there next semester.”

“I believe that Toppel has helped me become career ready by bringing several companies to UM and hosting networking events that allowed me to have a better understanding of which career path and companies I am interested in.”

Some advice from Melissa: “I cannot stress enough the importance of attending the Career Expo, networking, and sending a sincere follow-up e-mail to build a strong and meaningful relationship with the recruiter or specialist.”

CandiSee is a new social recruiting network designed to connect Millennial/Gen Z talent with recruiters using traditionally social mediums like short videos and texting. CandiSee connects you with employers before they come to campus!

To get started, download the app here and create a profile. Employers will be able to connect with you directly, or feel free to proactively search for profiles as well. Review 30-seconds-or-less recruiter videos and communicate with in-app texting prior to the event to coordinate a time to meet with your favorite companies.

For additional information, please visit their website or contact them at support@candisee.com.

Associate Director Employer Engagement

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Monmouth University, which is a small private school located near the Jersey Shore. I was very focused on my academics while in college, but stayed active with extra-curricular activities at the same time. I participated in pretty much every intramural sport possible, was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity, volunteered for our sports radio station, and held several part-time jobs. My favorite aspect of college was the life-long friendships that I made and still stay in contact with on a daily basis. My one piece of advice for students is to utilize the resources available to you on campus. Whether it’s the Career Center, Student Affairs, the Academic Center, and so much more, you can always find the support you need at any time.
