Meet Diya Dharmendran! Diya is a senior majoring in Psychology, and she spent this past summer interning at Joie de Vivre Counseling and Therapy. As an administrative intern, Diya worked on a wide range of projects related to operations, events, scheduling, and the development of educational materials/handouts for clients. She says Handshake helped her #BounceBack from challenges and initial rejections in her job search, and that accessing new opportunities and determination were the keys to her success.

Some advice from Diya: Everything happens for a reason. Don't give up, put yourself out there, apply, and challenge yourself! You learn a lot about yourself from those experiences.

The Venture Miami Tech Fair

The Toppel Awards recognize outstanding University of Miami students, student organizations, faculty, staff members, and employers who exemplify a commitment to the professional development of themselves and/or others.

Nominations for the 2022 Toppel Awards are open! To nominate an individual/group for a Toppel Award, visit our website for a complete list of categories and eligibility requirements. The nominations will close in January of 2022.

Located on the Miller School of Medicine campus, the Master of Science in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology is a full-time, 30 credit program, designed to be completed in one year.

Program features include:

Hands-on training in state-of-the-art facilities
One year program with fixed costs
Opportunity to earn a sequential MBA degree at a reduced cost
Broad knowledge in the various aspects of modern biochemistry and molecular biology

This program may be advantageous as a gap year or chance for additional exposure to scientific knowledge before applying to medical programs.

Azul Alvarado-Dadin is a senior from the Bay Area, California, majoring in Exercise Physiology on the Pre-Physical Therapy Track. Outside of Toppel, Azul is part of AKPSI, UBook Club & Uweightlifting, and she is an intern with the Athletic Training Staff where she works with the football team.
