Meet Gretchen Lemon! Gretchen is a Spring 2021 UM graduate with a Bachelor of Architecture, and she is the recipient of the School of Architecture Outstanding Design Award. Gretchen has interned at Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Ferguson & Shamamian Architects. She has attended Toppel's Architecture Career Fair since her freshman year, and she attributes her success in securing these roles to that experience. Gretchen has also practiced interviews at Toppel and says those resources along with those from the School of Architecture have been instrumental in preparing her for the hiring process.

Some advice from Gretchen: “I highly recommend starting to design your portfolio & attending the Architecture Career Fair freshman year. Even though most of the firms aren’t necessarily seeking out a first-year student for part-time employment, the exposure and networking you can gain from attending each year will set you apart in the following years.”
