Want to see what it’s like to work in your dream job? The UShadow program gives students the opportunity to shadow UM alumni and other employers, showing you what a typical workday is like in a career field of your interest.
This semester, all UShadow experiences will occur virtually due to COVID-19 regulations, and the program is open to sophomores and juniors of all majors. Students and hosts who wish to participate must first join Cane2Cane, our virtual platform for mentorship and connections within the UM community.

Best Advice?
"My mom said if you don’t love what you do, you won’t be successful. It’s really easy to fall in the trap of doing something just for the money, but I understand that it’s much more important to be passionate about what you do to achieve overall success in your life."
#BreakThru Story?
"I had to #BreakThru the barrier of not just saying I wanted to update my LinkedIn and Handshake profiles or update my portfolio and resume, but actually create a schedule where I could follow through with these goals in a realistic and timely matter. It’s so easy to keep adding to your to-do list, but it can become overwhelming and that’s why it was helpful for me to order things by priority and delegate certain weeks to accomplish a task throughout the summer."
