#BossedUp

Meet Grace Azank! Grace is a sophomore majoring in Finance and Business Technology. She participated in Toppel’s UShadow program last semester.

Grace says that the UShadow program was a wonderful eye-opening experience and it provided her with valuable insights on the tech career path that she is currently pursuing. She shares, “during my conversation with an expert Data Scientist at Apple, I learned important lessons on some of the top challenges currently faced by the Tech Industry, which will certainly help me better identify and make the best out of the opportunities available to me.”

She also says, "Toppel and Handshake offer students limitless opportunities to enhance their academic experience and become career ready. For instance, by attending most if not all of the amazing Citi events since freshman year, I have become highly fond of this successful and inspiring company, and am extremely happy and honored to have been accepted to Citi’s Private Bank Latin America Early ID Program this spring semester."

Some advice from Grace: “Go after your dreams by reaching out to opportunities all around you, building and showing your passion each step of the way. When drive meets persistence, dreams may and do come true.”

Christian Garcia

Associate Dean & Executive Director

“I’m proud to say that I was the first in my family to go to college and my college experience helped shape me into who I am today. I was in love with being a college student and therefore, soaked up every part of it. I was a work study student all four years and was involved in everything imaginable. I met so many new people, many of whom are friends till this day. My dream from childhood was to become a respected television news anchor (Tom Brokaw was my hero) but as I began to take broadcast journalism courses, I soon realized it just wasn’t me. As an uber-involved college student, I was surrounded by many wonderful administrators, but it was one in particular who helped me realize that I was made to work on a college campus. Before I knew it, I was applying for graduate school and eventually earned my Master’s degree in higher education administration and the rest, as they say, is history!”
