Ways you can #MakeMoves this Summer

  • Update your resume to document your most recent experiences and be sure to add any skills you gained from them!
  • Research graduate programs: Use the downtime in the summer to research schools and programs, study for and take necessary exams, and start working on or submitting applications
  • Check out hireacane.com for resources that can help with job searching, creating resumes, exploring internships and opportunities abroad, and more!
  • Craft your elevator pitch: You never know who you are going to meet or how a new connection could potentially impact your career. Make sure you’re prepared with an elevator pitch so you can seize an opportunity when it arises.
  • Contact an employer to set up an informational interview: You’ll be able to get advice and learn about that company’s workplace, culture, or even about a position you might be interested in applying for!
  • Attend a networking event: Networking over the summer is a great way to make connections with employers in your city. Search for local events in industries that interest you or consider contacting alumni that live in your area to set up a coffee meeting and learn more about where they are now.
