Meet Angel Soto! Angel is a junior majoring in Sports Administration and minoring in Strategic Communication. This semester Angel participated in Toppel’s UShadow program where he was able to shadow a player scout for the Miami Marlins MLB team.

Angel spent his time shadowing his host, Mike, at the University of Miami vs. the University of Maine men's baseball game evaluating potential draft prospects. Angel says Mike explained the everyday workings of being a Major League Baseball Scout including expected pay, daily responsibilities, and dynamics that exist -- positive or negative.

Some insights from Angel: “I found the experience to be very useful because I never considered becoming a player scout until we actually sat down and talked. While reflecting on that opportunity, I realized this provides another avenue to consider in regards to career endeavors.”

Devin Rogan

Associate Director, Employer Engagement

Devin is responsible for overseeing a strategic marketing campaign for employers to increase engagement on campus. He will also identify new types of organizations to increase internship and job opportunities for students. Devin is originally from Central New Jersey and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Monmouth University. He is also pursuing a Master of Science at the University of Miami and will earn his degree this May.
