Making Ideas Happen

ART TALK

Each issue will feature a piece of art from the Toppel Collection along with a quote from a Toppel staff member sharing their thoughts on the art and its message.

For this issue, Graduate Assistant Sarah Kasiske shared this about "Making Ideas Happen":

"This piece of art reminds me that ideas take time to grow; they cannot always be accomplished in a single day. It also reminds me that ideas are not static. The result of an idea is almost never what you had first imagined. Ideas need to be flexible and accepting of change. The best ideas are ones that expand and adapt as time goes on. "

ALL THE DIFFERENCE: FILM SCREENING AND DISCUSSION

Thursday, April 13, 6:30pm

Join us for a special screening of All The Difference. Filmed over five and a half years, All The Difference weaves together the stories of two promising young black men as they navigate their lives in broken homes and low-income, high-risk communities in Chicago. Statistics predict they will drop out of high school and succumb to life on the streets, but both graduate and go on to college in spite of all the odds. After they graduate, the film follows them for another 6 months as they both find meaningful work.
