I am the Assistant Director, Business Industry, at the Toppel Career Center. I advise undergraduate students in the Miami Business School in career development as well as reaching out to current and perspective employers to create internship and full-time job opportunities for these students. I come to the University of Miami with over 10 years of corporate business experience, having worked for some of the largest media and entertainment companies in the world, including USA Today, Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures. Prior to Toppel I was an independent International Business Consultant and Professor in Lisbon, Portugal. In my free time, I enjoy running, swimming, Latin fitness dance, and spending time with my family and dog, Daisy. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and a MBA from the University of Southern California.

In college at UVA, I was a quiet and studious student. I used my small town southern charm to navigate the large lecture halls and manicured green lawns, and to and make friends with my fellow wahoos. I was extremely focused on academics, studying child psychology until my acceptance into the McIntire School of Commerce my third year. I was also highly active on campus, teaching swim lessons, playing intramural co-ed soccer and club water polo and working in the campus smoothie bar. In the business school, I studied accounting and marketing but soon decided to follow the numbers route after an internship in the accounting department one summer at my local hospital. I graduated with honors and  a full-time offer in audit from PricewaterhouseCoopers. After a summer of selling wicked wraps in Newport, RI, my post-graduation professional journey began in Washington D.C. working with high-tech and entertainment clients. One piece of advice that I wish I had received while in school would be, “it’s not all about grades but also about the experiences.”
