Students meet recruiters at the Architecture Fair
Employers and students at the Professional Development Academy

As a career center, Toppel creates opportunities for employers and students to engage in a new way that not only establishes new connections but also gives back to the community.

University of Miami students are excited to connect with our employers in a variety of settings. The Toppel Career Center provides innovative ways to get involved with our center, our students, and our campus!

Why volunteer? Because you can make a difference. Take time to learn what our students’ passions are on an individual level. Making campus connections outside of traditional career fairs and on-campus recruiting activities can have a significant impact on student learning and engagement--and it can help you find great talent for your organization!

You can volunteer in a variety of ways:

  • Career Programs: Share your industry expertise and career path with students.
  • Workshops: Lead a 30-minute session on interviewing, resume-writing, or social media for the job search.
  • Service Activity: Participate in Toppel Day of Service to give back to the South Florida community alongside students and university staff.
  • Employer Practice Interviews & Critiques: Provide 1:1 feedback to students as they prepare for Career Fairs.

Which activities resonates with you? Contact us to discuss your specific interests. We would also love to brainstorm with you about new ideas! Please reach out to us to start the conversation about creating dynamic interactions with students.
